Summary
The SMS Broadcast Email-To-SMS features allow you to send SMS messages from your favourite email client, such as Outlook. There are three email-to-sms features available for you to use.
Email-To-SMS
This is the standard email-to-sms feature. It allows you to send an SMS to any Australian mobile phone from your email client.
Before using this feature, you must register the email address that you will be sending the messages from. To do this, click on the 'settings' section of the SMS Broadcast website, then click 'Linked Email Addresses'.
To send an SMS message, you simply send an email to PhoneNumber@send.smsbroadcast.com.au with the content of the message in your email.
For example, to send an SMS message to 0411222333 you would send the email to 0411222333@send.smsbroadcast.com.au
Only the first 160 characters of your email will be sent in the SMS message.
You can include the text ###END### at the end of your intended message to force a cutoff at that point, preventing email signatures being included in the text of the SMS message. Our system will only include the text of the email before ###END###. If you don't include this, we will simply read the entire email.
Email-To-SMS Groups
This feature is similar to the standard email-to-sms feature, except that this feature can be used to send the message to everyone in an address book group.
Before using this feature, it must be enabled in the 'settings' section on the SMS Broadcast website. Click the 'Group Alerts' heading to enable the feature.
You must also setup a group in your SMS Broadcast address book. For details on this, please view the 'address book' section in our documentation.
Once you have setup a group in your address book, you simply need to send an email to YourUsername.YourGroupName@groups.smsbroadcast.com.au with the content of the SMS in the email.
For example, if your account username is "bobsmith" and your group is called "employees", you would send the email to bobsmith.employees@groups.smsbroadcast.com.au
You can include the text ###END### at the end of your intended message to force a cutoff at that point, preventing email signatures being included in the text of the SMS message. Our system will only include the text of the email before ###END###. If you don't include this, we will simply read the entire email.
2-Way Email-To-SMS
This feature works the same as the standard Email to SMS feature, however the sender of the SMS will be set to the SMS Broadcast 2-Way number. The person receiving the SMS will be able to reply to your SMS and the reply will be forwarded back to you in an email.
Before using this feature, you must register the email address that you will be sending the messages from. To do this, click on the 'settings' section of the SMS Broadcast website, then click 'Linked Email Addresses'.
To send a 2-way SMS message, you simply send an email to PhoneNumber@twoway.smsbroadcast.com.au with the content of the message in your email.
For example, to send an SMS message to 0411222333 you would send the email to 0411222333@twoway.smsbroadcast.com.au
